由著名艺术批评家范迪安、殷双喜主持、策划的“隔岸·刘庆和作品展”将于2007年3月28日至4月5日在中国美术馆展出，展览开幕式定为3月28日下午3点半，届时将展出刘庆和的水墨新作40余幅。刘庆和60年代出生于天津，1987年毕业于中央美术学院，现为中央美术学院中国画学院副教授
刘庆和是最早开始拓展水墨表现空间和积极倡导水墨介入当代生活的实践者之一，自90年代初期在“新生代艺术展”中亮相以来，经历了十几年的不懈努力，刘庆和所创造的一系列水墨人物形象，已成为现代水墨画的代表性符号。无疑，刘庆和的艺术实践为中国水墨画的发展进程起到了积极的作用。而更重要的是刘庆和的艺术创作思维方式和他本人的创造状态，显示了中国传统水墨画在介入当代生活中的从容不迫以及在现代艺术中不可缺少的重要意义。其对水墨画的执着探索，已成为公认的与当代水墨发展进程有关的艺术实践行为。 此次展览以“隔岸”为题，通过对一系列“现代人’的深入刻画和对自然景观的超现实描绘，表达了画家个人角度的对“一种空间距离”的理解和艺术创作过程中“一种情境”的释怀，是刘庆和最近时期以来水墨艺术探索实践的一次集中展现。

1987 毕业于中央美术学院民间美术系连环画专业
1989 毕业于中央美术学院中国画系，获硕士学位

1961 Born in Tianjin.
1987 Graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts(CAFA), majoring in comic strip of folk art department.
1989 Graduated from CAFA, in Chinese Painting Department, Master’s Degree
Currently as Associate Professor of Chinese Painting Faculty of CAFA.
